Multiplier & Coverage Bonus Deep Dive

As anticipated in last week’s post, we want to share more details about two of the programs we’re bringing to life in late October, to encourage and support the growth of the Network: the Multiplier Bonus and Coverage Bonus.
Network Multiplier Bonus
Sensor owners with connected devices from May 7th (date of Ambient Network’s takeover of PlanetWatch) until the end of the rewards on the Algorand blockchain (happening by the end of October 2024), will benefit from a 50 million Ambient tokens pool Multiplier Bonus on top of their regular mining rewards by remaining online for the following 6 months.

Requirements to be eligible for the Multiplier Bonus
- Sensors that have been online as of May 7, 2024 until the end of the rewards on the Algorand blockchain. A sensor is eligible if it was rewarded at least once during this time window, even if its owner changed.
Program duration: 180 days
Distribution Criteria
The Multiplier Bonus will be allocated on a daily basis (considering a vesting period that will be communicated in the coming weeks) following these criteria:
- If the daily Multiplier Bonus budget is greater than the total of the daily rewards amount, we will allocate the exact daily reward received for each single sensor from the Multiplier Bonus pool. This means that your daily sensor reward will be doubled. Example: if your sensor daily reward on December 10th correspond to 20 Ambient Token, your Multiplier Bonus for that day will be 20 Ambient Tokens
- If the daily Multiplier Bonus budget is less than the daily rewards amount, we will allocate from the Multiplier Bonus pool a percentage of the daily reward received for each single sensor.
At the end of the 180 days, all the non-allocated tokens in the pool will be split between all sensors in an equal manner, based on the rewarded days.

Additional rules
- All bonus rewards will be allocated to the account(s) associated with the sensor
- Ambient will not receive its 20% share of rewards for this Multiplier Bonus distribution
- The Multiplier Bonus will be shown and claimable in the new Dashboard, along with all other rewards under the “My Wallet” section
- The program will start on the first day of the new Solana Reward engine, at the start of the migration
- Please note, in cases of sensor ownership change, non-allocated tokens will be associated with the updated email linked with the sensor
Coverage Bonus
As part of the initial launch, we have also allocated additional network funds to reward the deployment of new sensors in new hexes.
Program duration: 1 Year
Observation Period: 30 days
Requirements
- This program applies only to category A sensors
- New sensor, that means a sensor that was never registered on the network, in a new hex that was never covered by a sensor
- The sensor has to be eligible (sent 50% + 1 data streams) for a minimum of 30 days
Distribution Criteria
On the 31st day the sensor owner will see and be able to claim 500 Ambient tokens in the new Dashboard, under the “My Wallet” section.
